Paper Boats

The sugary treats
The summer rains
The wet slippers
And the paper boats
Thats what I remember
Of the day things turned sore.
Floating togather
While oscillating away
And toward each other
were our paper boats
That's what I remember
Of the day things turned sore.
Your laughter
Magical and sweet
Joy joyistly joy
And the two little paper boats
That's what I remember
Of the day things turned sore.
A car and a flash of light Your screams and a splash of blood People gathering in red rains And of in distance A drowning paper boat Thats what I remember Of the day things turned sore.
In black silences
I hear you scream
"Oh! Don't you cry
Over drowned paper boats"
But how can I not
When things turn sore?
I promise
will laugh one day
And everything
won't be blue and sore
But I can't help but sigh
Everytime I see paper boats.
